Bakeries in China are delicious! They are located on just about every street, and it appears that each one of them offers a different variety of baked goods. Some of the bakeries are connected with a restaurant, where you can choose your pastries and enjoy them on the upper level. An example of this kind of bakery is a little shop called PBD Pizza. Downstairs there is a medium sized bakery, and above it is a pizza restaurant that serves the largest pizzas in Beijing. Since both the bakery and the actual restaurant share a kitchen, it sometimes takes a little for them to brink out your food, but trust me it is well worth it.

Another kind of bakery found in Beijing is your typical café style, where you order inside and they have outside sitting area for you to enjoy your snack. This type is popular on market streets, where as the first style is frequently found in neighborhoods and around campuses. The café style bakeries tend to be larger, both in actual size and selection of pastries. The only drawback is that they do not offer an area to sit down, so you have to enjoy your purchase elsewhere. But regardless of your decision, the quality of each and every bakery is excellent. So no matter where your delectable pastries come from, you can expect nothing but the best from Beijing.
